Starting today, I’ll be blogging about what’s happening on set.

Today, Tumbling has finally started filming. For the next 4 months, the staff and cast will work hard together to make a good piece of work!
Today, we introduce the main character played by Yamamoto-kun, and the rest of the main cast soon after.
This morning was super cold, to the point of tears, but as the sun came out, everyone was able to move forward with shooting in a harmonious atmosphere.
This time, the “Yankee Team” came, hair dyed, slicked back, and their individual personalities were able to come out.
Yamamoto-kun’s red hair come out well.
On the other hand, we have Seto-kun’s rhythmic gymnast team
…the characters face off!
That’s to be expected -look forward to seeing it play out on air!
Today’s big task, in addition to filming, is the setting up of the gymnastic mats.
Assembling and disassembling the borrowed gymnasium mats was a greater task than expected!
Using a 10 ton hand truck, we packed the mat parts to the max, and however many trips it took, it ended up being 2 stories tall in the gym!
At first, just a few staff members and myself worked on it, but it seemed like we got nowhere until the manager and even some reporters chipped in. Overall, it took 20 people who were willing to sweat to get it done.
Even worse, we still had to line up the wood frame (it was super heavy! My arms felt stiff…).
Screws and wires had to go in next. And on top of that, we had to piece together 2 different kinds of polyurethane that went in 2 layers. (It was a giant puzzle…).
Finally, the four different mats had to be pasted together.
Time required: 3 hours!
For those of us who weren’t used to this, we were tried…
